DATA.DXAR took over an hour on my psp but its worth the wait , yo'll see

irishwhip
December 22nd, 2006, 19:57
DATA.DXAR speed depends on your memory stick size and type i believe. i used a 1gb sony high speed (the ones with the red stripe) and it took 5 minutes

If i have a TA-082 2.81 FW psp, can i do 3.02OE?

No, there are no custom firmwares for the TA-82 boards nor are there any downgraders for 2.81 so that you could install it. Sorry man.

All 4 of the PSP's I've updated work like a charm. Finally, no devhook to kick ass in Socom 2 online.

Remember to ask if you are having problems, but be clear in describing them.

My firmware shows up as "3.02 OE-A", or whatever, but I can't run any homebrew. It only recognizes the "GAME" folder, and not "GAME150" and "GAME302". Did I do something wrong..?

Homebrew and UMD's wouldn't load for me, for whatever reason. I think I'll stay with SE-C for now, but this is amazing progress, nonetheless.

press the O button when you get the error of the blue screen and reboot. that will fix it(i guess)

try changing the kernel mode through the recovery.

But isn't the Recovery that homebrew application in the 302OE folder? I can't run anything, unless I have to press a certian key combination.

Edit: Ah, you need to restart and press R.

DarthPaul
December 23rd, 2006, 00:01
yeah, recovery is in the game folder..but it doesnt load through the Game Menu,to load, turn off your PSP,and boot it holding the R button, that will lead you to a purple screen, thats the Recovery mode, you can change many options there.

December 23rd, 2006, 00:01

I installed this on my PSP. The flashing process is pretty much identical to the 2.71 SE flashers except that it wants you to manually reboot after flashing. The firmware itself is great. There are no bugs that I've seen yet, and all of my emulators are working great. I would reccommend installing this fw 100%.

CCOOLLL!!! and thx. just one question, can this custom firmware run Devhhok 0.46 hybrid?

Yes, if it is able to run in 1.5, you can run it here.

ok so i bought my new psp it has 2.60 on it you can move this to a diff forum thred but how do i put home brew on it without gta or how do i down grade...could you put links to good downgraders or homebrew apps. thanks

Upgrade to 2.71 and get the downgrader from here:
http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/2-71-downdater-by-dark_alex-mathieulh-yoshi-34338.html

Only use it if you do not have the TA-82 motherboard. Please do not brick because of something so easy to check for and avoid.

Once you are at 1.5, join us at the new 3.02 OE-A. It's easy to do and totally worth it.

Dude, shut up

He didn't have to make this release after what happened to him with the leagal problems surrounding immitators bricking PSP's. Which you'd know if you weren't retarde,. He also just lost two family members to cancer which also requires a normal state of mental healthg to know is not good.

And finally why do you hate him for what happened to your PSP: You probably did something wrong, Its your own damn fault, it worked for heaps of other people.

Dude, seriously, way to get people to help you. You are, so far, the only person this has happened to, so help us out so we can tell you where it went wrong.

First off, do you have a TA-082 motherboard?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TA-082

If you do, then that is why your PSP bricked.

Put the recovery folder (inside the flasher for recovery file) into the GAME folder on your ms. Then get a 1.50 FW eboot.pbp file (search for this) and rename it UPDATE.PBP and put that inside the recovery folder also. If you aren't happy or you brick your psp, you can enter recovery mode (R while powering up) and reflash to 1.50.

Does anyone have any problem with using Wifi in 3.02 OE-A with WPA-PSK? In 2.71 SE-C, I was able to connect with my router using WPA-PSK, but with this new firmware, I can't connect to it anymore. NOTE: I know WEP works , but I don't want to use it.

Other than that issue, I like this new firmware and thanks to Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and HarleyG for putting out great apps. :)

I think WPA encryption is one of the very few bugs in this custom firmware. It doesn't work properly yet. Sorry.

Your homebrew is probably in the wrong folder. You need to create a"game302" folder in the same part of your memory stick as "game" "photo" etc...

Hold down R when booting and change the Kernel Mode to 1.5
then make sure you have your games in folder psp/game150

I found my mistake. It wasn't the kernel mode, I just didn't realize that I needed a plain "GAME" folder under the PSP folder to get all the games to show up. Thanks for trying P.Funky!!

Hello! First of all I have a mediocre knowledge about pc and stuff. I am a new user of psp and have the ta-082 something motherboard. I downgraded to 1.5 firm and then to 3.02 OE with great success. But I have a problem. My pcs don't recognize psp anymore. It used to with firmware 1.5 but not anymore with 3.02. I saw a corrupted file in the memory stick and I reformated it. My umds play ok. I cannot connect psp through usb. Actually I tried extreme link 1.30 and followed the guide. everything fine except the psp usb b drivers which is never extracted. I exctract it in a folder and then it has 0 bytes in it. I would be thankfull if somebody

1) sent me the inf file of the usb b drivers or gave me some guidance from this point.
2)As I stated before I reformatted the memory stick. Can I move the folder with the back to 1.50 files throught my card reader and get 1.50 back. Do I need hend again?
Please please somebody tell me. Thank you in advance. (I read everything I could.)

Hi. I've just updated my PSP to this FW (3.02 OE-B) from a 2.8 =).

I'm having some problems in running apps and iso's. Nothing seems to work. I've made these folders in the x:\PSP\ folder.:
GAME
GAME150
GAME302
and in the root of the Memory stick I made a folder named ISO where I've put a .ISO file.

When I turn on my PSP and find the game menu, I can see them all, but when i load them up it just says; Game cannot be started (800something321).

Same thing with random homebrew apps (appart from a different error)

I've messed around with the recovery thingy (holding R while booting), where i've changed the kernel value back and forth from 1.5 and 3.02..

Can someone guide me through this madness? =)

Thanks in advance!

I am going crazy, I've tried 4 times now, sits there for over an hour. tried formatting my mem stick and redownloading the files.

I have an original 1.5 firmware system, and have been using devhook.

- Get the 1.50 and 3.02 sony updaters in the oeupdmaker folder with the names "150.PBP" and "302.PBP".

- Run the program. This program won't write to the flash, it will just create a file called DATA.DXAR in the
same directory (oeupdmaker).

- The program will verify that the SHA-1 of the generated file is correct.

- Once that you have done this, you can save the DATA.DXAR file to skip this step in the future.

1. what do they mean Get the 1.50 and 3.02 sony updaters in the oeupdmaker folder with the names "150.pbp" and "302.pbp"?? i dont see those files in there. there is only one that say EBOOT.PBP

2.Run the program. What is the program i dont see it.

I'm a little confused... I've Downloaded this "pack" and all i got was a "3020E.rar" file. I didn't get a folder or anything, just said singular file. All other download sites offer the same conclusion. I'm wondering if its impossible to get the full download now that alex has retired. i hear talk of "oeupdmaker" folders and such, which i do not have. Where do i get the full version of this download, as Dc-emus guide seems to be inconclusive.

- Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME/ if you are using 1.50 firmware and to
/PSP/GAME150 if you are using whatever version of 2.71 Se.

- Get the 1.50 and 3.02 sony updaters in the oeupdmaker folder with the names "150.PBP" and "302.PBP".

- Run the program. This program won't write to the flash, it will just create a file called DATA.DXAR in the
same directory (oeupdmaker).

This firmware is very outdated. Search for 3.52M33.

There's some people who just love giving agony to others in bumping old, useless threads with useless posts. See above.

Hi,

Its ok for being a noob gotchriz. I've been a noob once then by reading in forums, i learned a lot. You should use the newer firmware, use 3.52M33-4. It is the most stable custom firmware today. But if you like custom themes to put in you psp, use 3.71M33-2. But be careful for updating. BTW, what firmware do you own?? an official one or a custom firmware??
