Remember the Sony streaming media player that reportedly packed OnLive support (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/01/potential-onlive-integration-in-sony-internet-player/)? After yesterday's announcement of the acquisition of Gaikai (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/02/sony-buys-streaming-game-service-gaikai-for-380-million-to-est/) – thatother video game streaming service – OnLive support for the player is unsurprisingly kaput, Sony confirmed to VentureBeat (http://venturebeat.com/2012/07/03/surprise-surprise-sony-drops-onlive-support-in-blu-ray-player-after-purchashing-gaikai/).

Presumably, Gaikai support could be added to the device in the future, but for now it's clear that Sony's game streaming intentions (understandably) no longer include OnLive.
