Developers are being asked to design apps for 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
Rumours are circulating around the Amazon tech jungle, with talks of a ten-inch Kindle Fire (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/amazon-to-ignite-a-tablet-war-with-ten-inch-kindle-fire/018461), and a Kindle smartphone (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/amazon-working-on-smartphone-with-foxconn/018537) in the pipeline.
And now, AllThingsD (http://allthingsd.com/20120708/amazons-next-kindle-fire-will-ship-in-q3-with-improved-display/) reckons the next Kindle Fire will come equipped with an improved screen, a move that Apple recently made with its Retina display-enabled iPad 3.
Third-party developers are being asked to prepare apps for a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, rather than the 1024 x 600 used on the present Fire.
Additionally, the next-gen design will likely come with a camera, a must have for all tech-savvy consumers, as photo-sharing platforms like Instagram (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/facebook-buys-instagram-for-1bn/017668) and Scalado (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/nokia-acquires-imaging-specialist-scalado/018321) are snapped up by giants like Facebook and Nokia.
The Fire news comes following whispers of an iPad Mini, (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/apple-to-murder-google-nexus-7-with-an-eight-inch-ipad/018516) and the unveiling of the Google Nexus 7 (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/google-introduces-199-nexus-7-tablet/018441).
