The Raspberry Pi (http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/12/07/06/2238241/raspberry-pi-model-a-makes-first-appearance) is likely to be blasted into space (http://www.zdnet.com/raspberry-pi-in-space-putting-the-linux-pc-into-orbit-7000000577/), according to project founder Eben Upton. The $35/$25 credit-card-sized single-board educational computer could be used in sounding rockets, satellites, and high altitude balloon tests, according to Upton. Raspberry Pi has proved wildly popular (http://linux.slashdot.org/story/12/06/27/154242/fishpi-raspberry-pi-powered-autonomous-boat-to-cross-the-ocean) since its launch, with one developer planning to build into a model boat to sail it across the Atlantic."
