Introduction:
This is my simple tutorial for installing Dark_Alex's new firmware, 3.02 OE-A.
For those of you running devhook and considering updating I cannot recommend it highly enough, look around in the forums to see why, but let me just say that although we will always love devhook, this is just such a much better system.
There is so much info on psp hacking and it can definatly be overwhelming for newbies, but if you keep you head it is actually all quite simple.
What Im posting here is what has worked for me, and if you follow the steps below and meet the requirments I see no reason why it wont work for you too!

Requirements:
- 1.5 PSP, battery fully charged
- 302_BASIC_Installer_150.exe from http://www.psp-haxors.com/wp-content/up … er_150.exe

Steps:
1. Connect your psp to your computer, and back up any photos, etc. you want to keep.
2. Exit usb mode on your psp, and go to Settings->System Settings->Format Memory Stick
3. Go back to usb mode, and run the installer (mentioned in the requirements) on your computer.
4. Just keep pressing next, making sure to select your psp drive when prompted. (Some people complain about the installer stopping on 37%, just wait, it definatly will finish, maybe your computer just sucks!)
5. Exit usb mode again, and go to Game->Memory Stick->3.02 Installer
6. On running this, your psp will reboot and a message will come up, prompting you to press 'x' to continue. Press X
7. Once all is done, you will be prompted to reboot your psp manually. Hold the power switch up for a few seconds to make sure it is fully off, then turn back on.
8. Light up a fat one for Dark_aleX, as you are now running a 3.02 OE-A psp!

Outroduction
Hope this helps, I just wanted to give something back to the community that has helped me so much in getting to step 8! You can make a small update to OE-B later for playing Playstation 1 games on your psp though I wont go into this. (Mainly as I havnt tried it yet so amn't sure of the specifics!)
enjoy! brk3

FAQ/Troubleshooting
Q: Is this upgrade definitely worth going for?
A: Read above, yes yes and YES!

Q: Is it possible to downgrade back to 1.5?
A: Yes, I won't go into how here but dont worry about this one.

Q: Will it play all previous devhook games and ISOs?
A: Yes, no problems here whatsoever.

Q: Do you need a UMD in the drive to run ISOs?
A: Yes, there is a 'no-umd' option that can be enabled, but it is not guaranteed to be compatible. So if you have a UMD,(which you should or it is illegal!) or are having trouble running an iso, best just keep the UMD in there.

Q: I want to update to OE-B but there is no GAME150 folder
A: Just create one!

Q: Does this flash or write to memory stick?
A: This flashes, see below for more info.

Q: Is there a possibility of bricking my PSP?
A: Technically with any procedure that requires flashing there is a possibility of bricking, however, thousands upon thousands of people have installed this firmware and there has not being one report of bricking. I will go so far as to say this is 100% safe, as long as you dont do anything stupid. e.g. turning off the power during install, cancelling install, eating your psp for dinner, etc.

Q: My PSP is firmware 2.50, 2.80 etc. and the installers not working
A: This is only for 1.5 psps. (Or DAX's older firmware, in which case there is a different installer than the link above, otherwise the steps are the same)

Hey, he was just trying to help... Just because there are other guides doesn't mean this one isn't helpful.

He should have quoted the source though, or linked to it.
