"Some time ago, Google admitted that the biggest threat was not other search engines but services like Siri. However, Google just bridged that gap with Google Voice Search (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/12/08/08/google_says_voice_is_the_future_of_web_search_intr oduces_siri_like_app_for_ios.html), already available in Jelly Bean (https://mobile.slashdot.org/story/12/07/04/2013200/android-41-jelly-bean-review), but also available via downloadable app. Google also submitted this app to the iOS App Store (http://www.networkworld.com/news/2012/080812-google-search-upgrades-261503.html) and is currently waiting approval. However, Slashdotters are no doubt recalling to mind the 'Google Voice' fiasco, in which Apple refused to allow it to appear, saying that it replaces a native function. It wasn't until Apple was brought before Congress to answer questions on how it approves or rejects apps that Google Voice was brought in."
