When Electronic Arts announced at E3 2006 that it was reviving the Command & Conquer franchise with Tiberium Wars, many fans of the series rejoiced. Now, the truly hardcore fans of the real-time strategy franchise have even more reason to celebrate.
EA today announced that it will be releasing the Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars: Kane Edition--named after the series' popular villain--simultaneously with the game's standard edition in March 2007 for the PC. The publisher has not yet officially revealed the Kane Edition's price, but online retailer EBGames.com lists it at $59.99, $10 more than the standard edition.
The special edition includes a bonus DVD with several features, including a making-of documentary, strategy guides, and deleted scenes and bloopers from the game's live-action sequences. Also in the Kane Edition are five exclusive multiplayer maps, three exclusive unit skins, and a limited edition poster.
EA did not say if there would be a Kane Edition for the Xbox 360 version of C&C3, which is due in stores sometime this year.
