Electronic Arts, of course, is a video games publisher by trade, but it has seen increasing success with mobile and continues to hint it will move on from its console-based heritage.
In June, the firm said it will make freemium mobile games the norm (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/ea-to-make-freemium-games-the-norm/018275), and a month later claimed becoming a digital-only publisher is inevitable. Now, EA is in talks with Microsoft to launch games for the Windows Phone 8 platform as part of its ongoing mobile.
Speaking to Bloomberg (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-12/electronic-arts-sees-new-windows-as-central-mobile-game-platform.html), COO Peter Moore, said: "We’re working very closely with Microsoft to understand what their views on gaming navigation are.
"Anything that allows more platforms to be adopted quickly that have a gaming element is good for Electronic Arts."
