At $623.5 billion, Apple is the most valuable company in the history of the world.
With shares up by 64 per cent this year, Apple's market value has gone through the roof.
Smashing the previous record of $620.6 billion set by Microsoft in 1999, the Cupertino titan is now worth $623.5 billion.
For many years, ExxonMobil was the most valuable company in the world. Apple is now worth 53% more than the New York-based petrol company.
The stock's latest push higher is powered by expectations of unreleased products, particularly the iPhone 5 (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/tag/iphone-5).
UBS advisor Steven Milunovich said: "Apple is building a tech empire. Empires eventually crumble. But Apple seems closer to the middle of building its empire than the end."
