Bethesda has announced Hearthfire, a second DLC pack for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (http://www.edge-online.com/reviews/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-review) that lets players build their own homes from the ground up.
In addition to building the house, players can expand it to what Bethesda's announcement describes as "a sprawling compound". You'll have to defend it from unwanted guests and can even adopt children.
Hearthfire will be released on September 4 for Xbox 360, costing 400 Microsoft Points. If the first Skyrim DLC, Dawnguard (http://www.edge-online.com/reviews/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-%E2%80%93-dawnguard), is any measure, a PC release will follow a month or so later while PS3 players will continue to get the shortest of shrifts: two months on from the Xbox 360 release of Dawnguard, there's still no word on when it will launch for PS3.
