It's not so long since Apple silently dropped the restriction about iOS apps for programming — iPad owners can now code in Lua with Codea (http://twolivesleft.com/Codea/) or with Python for iOS (http://pythonforios.com/). Yesterday, a new app called Kodiak PHP (http://www.becomekodiak.com/) brought another IDE to the iPad, this time for PHP coders. Pandodaily's Nathaniel Mott describes it as a full-blooded software development tool (http://pandodaily.com/2012/08/31/you-write-code-for-a-tablet-now-try-coding-on-one/) with comparison to other iOS apps. Cult of Mac reports that the demise of the Mac might be closer than we think (http://www.cultofmac.com/187377/kodiak-for-ipad-write-and-execute-php-code-offline/), but are developers really ready to use the on-screen keyboard to do some serious work?"
