Having already undergone a revamp and sail onto PC and Xbox, Sid Meier's and Firaxis' classic high seas action-adventure title Pirates! is brandishing its cutlass on PSP.

In the game, you play a 17th century pirate attempting to amass as much booty and fame as humanly possible. Sea battles, sea exploration, land duelling and wireless multiplayer are all part of the pirate package. We're assuming it'll be pretty much a port of the Xbox and PC games.

Pirates! creator Sid Meier has said previously that Firaxis loves "the new possibilities from handheld systems like the PSP system. Pirates! for the PSP system allows players to shape the heroic life of a pirate while embracing the pirate's way of life - always on the go!"

This is one of the many great looking games I'm looking forward to on the PSP. 2007 is going to see some of the console's best games now the developers have had a few years to learn the workings of it.
