I am running Windows XP, my taskbar is missing, when I press the windows key on the keyboard it still dosen't show up. I can't even access the menu that allows you to change the task bar settings!

press ctrl-alt-delete and see if process explorer is running - if so terminate each one and then when thats done go to file new task and type explorer.exe. if it still doesnt work then it has to be a virus has damaged your installation. i would think that it is a virus however so good luck.

Might you have the setting "Auto-hide the taskbar" on?
