During its press conference this evening, Sony dropped ¥3,000 (about $40) from the base price of the PSP in Japan, putting the console at ¥14,800 (about $190). It's unclear if any price drop will affect North American or European consumers, but we'll update as we find out more.

Wow, the PSP is still going huh? I'm surprised since the Vita has been around for some time now.

Up until a few weeks ago the PSP was outselling the Vita every week, Time they introduced a really cheap PSP, they would make a killing

Didn't Sony release the E-1000 in recent times (latest PSP model with no Wi-Fi)? Or is £85 that not quite cheap enough?

Btw, I still remember the time when I first got my 1003 model giga pack and that cost me £235 back in the day, now they're about £50 or less used at Games stores or ebay these days.
