Adoption rate of 'the world's most advanced operating system' made in 24 hours.
The iPhone 5 is on sale from today, while new software iOS 6 was available as of Wednesday (September 19th) and Chitika Insights reports that 15 per cent of iOS users have already upgraded their devices.
The swift adoption of Apple's self-proclaimed "world's most advanced operating system" happened within 24 hours.
However, users are less than impressed with the platform's Google Maps replacement on iOS 6 (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/something-weird-is-happening-people-are-ridiculing-apple/019438), which has scattered towns into the wrong locations.
The data was calculated from iOS ad impressions on the Chitika network between the 19th and 20th, with a surge of iOS 6 clicks taking place during that time. Prior to launch, developers were the only ones with access to the platform.
Comparatively, it has taken Android Ice Cream Sandwich almost a year to penetrate 20.9 per cent of devices. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/ice-cream-sandwich-lives-on-20-9-per-cent-of-android-devices/019279)
