yo what speeds up my PC. its well slow now, especially on startup (as in 15 minutes before you can do anything) and after the screensaver has been on, and it's only two years old. (it's a laptop, so this might be a factor). i heard it might be to do with the registry, so are there any decent FREE programs that will help clear it up?

Hmmm... I recently had all my computer formatted
look here: http://luazone.forum5.com/viewtopic.php?t=49&mforum=luazone

So now its alot faster, I used to have to wait 10 minutes but not now.

Registry mechanic is good and When you do this: START/RUN:msconfig/STARTUP it will stop processes like MSN, IpodService (even if you don't have one) etc.

backup your junk to CDR's or DVDR's or even an external HD then erase all your junk from your HD, most've the time it's when you have little or no memory...

...and when junk files hide within your system files and eat your mem and system files!

Man you have some serious issues with your system . do all of the above sugestions, and/or use : Reg cleaner, this will change , bypass and uninstall programs if needed find unused ,missing and copies of useless files .
Then most importantly DE-FRAG!!!!!.create a restore point first tho.

Defrag is not part of Reg cleaner

I'd also be running some sort of spyware/malware software.
