The release today of Doom 3: BFG Edition has prompted the removal of the 2004 original from PC distribution service Steam. Videogamer reports that the Id Software shooter, which retailed for £13.99, has been replaced by BFG Edition, which in addition to graphical enhancements sports several gameplay tweaks, including an improved checkpoint system and armour-mounted flashlight and costs £19.99.
