Nintendo has revealed the next wave of titles for the Nintendo Wii, as well as the launch date of the News Channel.

Previously unavailable in North America, the first-party developed title Wii Play is due for release in the region next month, complete with a bundled Wii remote controller.

March sees the release of three titles from Ubisoft, recently revealed to be the number one third-party Wii publisher in Europe and the US. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII are all due from the French publisher.

Electronic Arts has four titles due in the first quarter. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, SSX Blur, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition and Medal of Honor: Vanguard are all Wii-specific versions of popular EA franchises.

Other titles due include BVG's Disney's Meet the Robinsons, Majesco's Bust-A-Move Bash, Eidos' Bionicle Heroes and Sega's Sonic and the Secret Rings Saga.

"Our tremendous worldwide launch shows people, from experienced players to non-players, are hungry for the kinds of entertainment only Wii provides," said Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.

"Wii hardware production continues full bore, and every week we're delivering more incredible content to further expand the experience."

The company also revealed that the Wii News Channel will go live on January 27, with content provided by the Associated Press.
