Nintendo has said nothing regarding the release of Wii Ethernet kits since CVG confirmed their existence way back in October. But after months of silence, the kits are finally on their way and could be in stores within weeks.

Reports of a Taiwan-based company, Axis Electronics, having already started to ship the adaptors leads us to believe that, despite Nintendo's silence, they will be available for sale very soon.

CVG revealed that the planned USB-to-Ethernet kit would allow those who lack a wireless internet router to connect the Wii to the web using the console's USB ports instead.

It is not known whether Axis Electronics is making the official Nintendo adaptors or a third-party version, but we've put the call in to Nintendo to get confirmation and a release date. Updates will land here when we get them.
