Actually, it's more directly targeted at the full-size iPad line. The Nexus 10, an Android 4.2 tablet shipping on November 13, packs a dual-core 1.7GHz CPU, a 2560 x 1600 screen, and 2GB of RAM into its 8.9mm thick case.

All of those numbers are hard to understand out of context, which is why Engadget created a comparison chart (http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/nexus-10-vs-the-competition-fight/). That screen comes out wider than the iPad, with a better pixel density and a faster processor. The really impressive specification to compare, however, is the price: $399 for 16GB, a full hundred dollars under Apple's luxury offering. The 32GB version is $499.
