In addition to decimating part of the US' east coast and inspiring internet memes (http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2012/10/sorting-the-real-sandy-photos-from-the-fakes/264243/), Hurricane Sandy has shut down the online services for certain Activision games.According to One of Swords (http://oneofswords.com/2012/10/cod-gh-servers-disrupted-by-hurricane-sandy/), some data centers are currently without power which may affect online services for the following games:

Guitar Hero (all titles and platforms)
Call of Duty: World at War (all platforms)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3)
Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3, PC, Wii)

Activision offered the following statement on its support page (http://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Connectivity-Issues-with-Online-Games):"Due to the hurricane that affected the East Coast of the United States, multiplayer gaming with some of our online title is experiencing connectivity issues. We appreciate your patience."
