Hi guys

I've been offered a Jap import PSP (with loads of extras) for £140 but I've been told I can't play films on it. Someone else told me there's a patch available or some kinds of workaround so I can play them - does anyone know where I can get this from?

I've never heard of a patch, but you can play mp4's from the Memory Stick, and if it is 3.02OE or above you can play foreign UMD's by using the region spoof.

When I said noob I really meant it! How can I find out if it's 3.02OE and what is this 'region spoof'?

Bear in mind I know nothing about PSPs!

To find out the firmware go System settings then System information

offered by who? and i kinda doubt that he will have a custom firmware..

ask him what firmware the psp has,

if its 2.80 or under buy it

if its 2.81 or over dont touch it with a bargepoll

no ment to say from where r u gona buy it, as in what store, but since its from a guy then that clears it up for me

If you want a downgradeable PSP, go check Gamestop or Ebgames, I've seen many 2.71s there.

OK guys I've been told it's 2.6 and can be reverted to 1.5 - so should I go for it? I still want to be able to play UK spec films on it.

when you go to 3.03 OE, you have a recovery menu, in that recovery menu you have an option to make the film play no matter where you buy it from. wether its from UK or South america or Asia, it will be able to play with the region spoof option enabled

im talking about the custom firmware (3.03 "OE")

what you do is downgrade it to 1.5, then go to 3.03 oe from there. i could help you do that wen u buy the psp, i am going to get a new one as well... i hope
