With just a week until Christmas, Asda has begun sales of iTunes gift cards, which makes it the first retailer in the UK to do so.
The cards can be purchased online, with the supermarket currently selling the £25 for £20 to encourage purchases.
£15, £25, £50, and £100 vouchers are available, while buyers will receive codes within 60 minutes of ordering.
Chris Wade, online category manager, Asda, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer these cards to customers in the UK. Apple’s iTunes stores are a treasure trove of multimedia entertainment, from eBooks to films and music. For those who are stuck on what to buy, or just don’t have time to hit the shops, these cards are an ideal gift."
The launch comes as Asda tries to position itself as a tech-savvy brand, having recently revamped its mobile apps and installed wi-fi into stores. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/asda-introduces-free-wi-fi-to-all-stores-as-part-of-mobile-overhaul/019803)
