Raf has released a new version of the Streaming Music app called PSP Radio.

Heres the release info:

New release
1.1.1258
I found a bit more time on my hands, and decided to make this release..
There is are no new features on this release (from 0.38.12). But its a new start for PSPRadio, and a new direction.
Now all releases are for F/W 2+ with OE (tested on 3.03B); no more static/dynamic mumbo-jumbo. All releases are what was formerly known as dynamic; i.e. plugin based.
As such, this release is preliminary, and still a work in progress. There are many things not quite working yet, like plugin unloading, L+R+START, USB.
Also, I changed the versioning system. As its been a while since the last release; I decided to call it 1.0 (so 0.38.12 is 1.0). This, and new releases will be 1.1.xxxx, where xxxx is the repository revision at the time of the build. It will continue to be 1.1 until something major changes.

NOT WORKING: NOTE: If a plugin stops responding, try L+R+START (should take you back to PSPRadio)
NOT WORKING: Plugin unloading: meaning, if you start a plugin, when you exit, the PSP will lock up. This includes switching the UI (as the old plugin is unloaded before the new one is loaded).
NOT WORKING: USB

1.1.1258 (2007-02-05)
NEW FEATURES
(raf) Core: Version number is now 1.1.XXXX, where XXXX is the subversion revision at the time of the build.
(raf) Core: Modified Makefile targets. No more static/dynamic versions. Only Dynamic, for f/w 2.0+ (OE F/W).
BUG FIXES
KNOWN BUGS
(raf) Core: Modules can be loaded, but unloading causes a crash
(raf) Core: USB is not working (help is appreciated)

Great news for PSP homebrew. This was for a long time one of my favorite homebrew apps but sadly releases slowed down and most people made the transition from 1.50/DevHook to 3.xx OE custom firmware.

I am very happy to see that this release and all future releases will be compatible with 3.xx OE firmware.

Thanks for keeping this one alive!

One of the must-have apps on my PSP, would be better if it supports streaming AAC and AAC+, maybe on the next update?

I belive those formats are not open source, and if they are not open theres no way you will see it in a build unfortunatly.

this app is one of the finest peices of homebrew out there, keep up the good work!

peace

p.s 100th post wooo

Yeah, I agree totally with you. This app is a must. But what's with the 3.xx OE not working-talk? Well, I managed to run PSPRadio on 3.03 OE-C, but after upgrading to 3.10 OE-A, no versions will connect to the access point. But what do you mean?

I'm very happy that Raf has started working on it again and can't wait for a new release.

i also agree that this is a must have psp app, but this new version wont even turn the wifi on. the latest one before this one works perfectly, though. i was excited to hear about a new release, but i guess i'll just stick with the one that works.

I'm running the old version on 3.10 OE-A..you just have to reset your psp settings to get it to work (like the web browser issue). Tho, I'll be installing this one instead!

This looks nice. I wish it would work though. Seems to be having problems accessing the streams. Wifi light flashes for second. Then I get the message: Error: Could not resolve host !
I reset default settings to see if that sorted it, but unfortunately it still cannot connect.

Can anyone help ?
Oh I'm running 3.10 OE A

if you like to work this you have to go to config (R@startup) and make the kernel 3.10! with kernel 1.50 it isn't working

Hi I installed PSPRadio and all looks good. However I am unable to connect to my network. I don't know what the reference to 'static and dynamic mumbo jumo' was in the original post. However I am using a staic IP in the format of 192.168.XXX - which is required for a number of other applications I use.

When I start PSPRadio it simply says 'error, unable to connect to network' (or words to that effect).

I am fully able to browse the net with the native PSP Web browser and all my other network enabled apps and emulators work - including PimPStreamer, PSPVLC and PSPVNC.

For whatever reason it seems that PSPRadio doesn't like my network configuration - and it is this that is preventing it from connecting to my network.

I understand that the submitter refers to static and dynamic IP's as 'mumbo jumbo' - but I have always found that things tend to work better if you do in fact use a static IP.

I have selected my connection in the menu and have enabled the network to start when PSPRadio starts - so as far as I can tell I have done everything that is required. (Although obviously I haven't since it still can't connect to anything).

Can PSPRadio be used with a static IP configuratiion - or has that option been completely removed?
