Traces of Apple’s new iPhone and iOS software have begun to emerge in app usage logs.
The Next Web (http://thenextweb.com/apple/2013/01/01/developers-begin-seeing-new-apple-iphone-hardware-and-ios-7-in-usage-logs/) has reported that it has been contacted by developers sharing references to a new iPhone identifier and the next major Apple OS update – iOS 7.
According to The Next Web, one developer showed it that the smartphone and tablet manufacturer has been testing hardware linked to a new ‘iPhone 6,1’ identifier, powered by a device running iOS 7, which is scheduled to be rolled out in the middle of 2013.
The developer logs shared with the tech title shows that the app requests originate from an IP address on Apple’s Cupertino campus, therefore indicating that the firm’s software development and app teams are compatibility-testing apps already available on the App Store.
While there are still no concrete details regarding hardware and software features, sources suggest that Apple started work on iOS 7 during the latter half of 2012.
No specifics on hardware or software features are revealed in the developer logs, yet sources have indicated that Apple began working on the new version of iOS 7 towards the end of 2012 and is soon to finalise the features that will be included in its first public release.
