Sony has just released Firmware 3.11 for the PSP. This update fixes the freezing bug found in the PSP title R-Type.

Apart from the bug fix, we don't have any details yet on what security patches are included in the new firmware. Word has it in various forums that there aren't any big changes in the core module, so theoretically, it would be easier to crack than 3.10.

HERE is the link to the download if you want it (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1056)

If you update you will lose all homebrew.

*Waits for 3.11 OE-A*

*Waits for 3.11 OE-A*

*Wonders what the point would be as a plugin to load the 3.11 POPS could be made, even if the only game that plays better may be R-Type*

Has anyone tried decripting it yet? Don't see why sony would change the keys for a minor update, but you never know.

(P.S. not trying to be mean D0N, but i just don't see the point of 3.11 OE-A, as the only thing different is that one game fix)

That was quick. A new firmware to patch 1 game? Sounds fishy to me...

Why isnt the 3.11 update on the Sony website?

It's probably because Sony hasn't updated it's pages yet. It's available to download via Network Update on the PSP though.

Thanks for the info, I will wait for Sony to put it on their site, you know you get a good, clean copy from them...

FYI there is also an additon to the PS1 emu, a reset game option (according to psp-hacks).

new features are (1 more than we already knew);

- PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork title performance in order to play was strengthened.
- [Game reset] was added to the menu.

I'm downloading this now, just to have it saved when 3.11 OE arrives..I don't care if it has minor updates.. I just want to have my PSP with the latest Custom Firmware[in this case OE] always.

So PSX performance was "strengthened" and a reset function added?

Those features alone make me hope for a update to OE firmware but at what point do we expect too much? If SONY is going to be releasing updates every week, its not fair to Dark_AleX that we expect him to make a new custom firmware every few days. If he does, awesome, but if he ever decides to wait for more SONY updates before updating his OE firmware, I could understand that.

Unless its become a sort of back & forth tug of war between SONY and Dark_AleX which would not be terribly surprising. There is no way SONY does NOT know the name Dark_AleX, lol!

Every little helps ;)

I just like being on the latest custom Firmware :D

Well considering you linked to the psp-hacks site for the download and not the official sony site, yes, you got the info from there.

Happened before with Joan de Arc.

Why isnt the 3.11 update on the Sony website?

As of the posting of the original post, it was on the Japanese site's download page. Another reason I think splodger took the news from psp-hacks and didn't source it except in the download link. The US site is slower to post updates since the US is also like 16 hours behind Japan in timezones. Daytime posts here happen in the middle of the night over there.
