PSP Firmware 3.11 Decrypted

For those of you that wish to decrypt the new Sony firmware (http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/psp-firmware-3-11-realeased-52314.html) here is your chance to.

Team C+D latest decrypter works with 3.11.

I have uploaded the latest firmware dumper.

To dump the firmware open up the Eboot with psp brew or PBP unpacker

2.Extract the DATA.PSAR to the root of your memory stick.

3. Copy psar_dump2 and psar_dump2% to your GAME150 folder. (Or whatever you kernel is set to)

4. Launch it from the game menu.

5. Select what option you wish to have. Then it will dump the contents to the root of your memory stick.

This was the same decrypter they released to to decrypt 3.10 it also works with 3.11 so this is not a new release of the program.

i smell 3.10 OE-B cooking as this is only a bug fix on sonys part it adds no new file structure to the update only edits to POPstation that can be adressed in OE-B, and where is ART with X-flash 3.03 OE-C/3.10 OE-A ?

the thing is each new custom firmware that comes out theres allways a bug in it or some shit. Im still waiting for 3.10 OE C because ive noticed the best running custom firmware is the revision C im still at 3.03 OE C i tried 3.10 OE A2 and some things still dont run right so theres either going to be 3.10 OE C or a damn 3.11 OE A and whats new in sonys new update? just security boosts? or more ps1 games compatable? or just more damn bugs in custom firmware? lol

It's very curious to see different reactions to Sony's and DaX's releases.

Yet another Sony release, and yet another DaX cake! Amazing.

I just wanted to speak out some thought so, if you don't mind I'm having a one-way chat with you, ok?
TTYTT I don't think Sony really cares that much, yet, for this homebrew scene, as they're much concerned to apply fixes to their PS1 emulator; yeah, I'm pretty sure they know they cannot keep the run with DaX anyway - hahaha - so they pretty much gave up, or at least are not so scared of the exploits, relaying on the fact that, actually, only a really small part of the PSP community really knows what they have in their hands, and squeze it the most...
It's not for us 100s that the PSP is gonna sink in some dark (ooops...) shop shelves, rather the PS3, for who's a real gamer (and I'm not. or well, I wasn't till the advent of the OE FWs...) is the thing that may compromise the spreading around of PSP.
I've always seen the PSP as a yes-game-console, but since it's portable, just as a handy thing to - for instance I travel a lot on long-haul planes - entertain yourself with your favourite whatever: music, game, videos.
Moreover nowadays it's actually overfun to be sitting in one of those big chairs, 10.000 mt high, checking ur e-mail with ur shiny black thingy, while all the others still need their laptops.

I'm loving my PSP day after day, more than yesterday but still less than tomorrow. Not only for all this homebrew scene (I'm a developer, so I'm enjoining its capabilities also from this point of view), but just because was the-bit-that-was-missing to a console only; wonderful (c'mon, isn't it cute?), and as it showed up, up(down?!?)gradable.

Last but not least... At your 40s, you're not peeking out gaming consoles every day, really, but this...

I am hearing that PSX performance was enhanced as well as a reset game option in the PSX menu when pressing HOME.

That is cool stuff. Its always fun to see how new versions of SONY's POPS EMU work with other games.

Would be nice to see a 3.11 OE-A but if Dark_AleX wants to wait for more significant updates first, that is cool.

Indeed u r right. Actually it's the rush all of us have been "forced" to follow that makes the points out.
One day, one guy came out with an exploit, and gave us a brand new thing, more powreful, and we forgot that the_very_thing came from Sony first... so now all we look 4ward every day is just another kick in Sony's ass to have the newest firmware + the advantages of HB and all the rest.

Sony rules, yes. But... let the guys scream out loud what they feel at the moment, tomorrow they'll post another "this doesn't work", or "why can't I..." and you'll be quiet while they'll be struggling.

Mmm, to trust completely what you quoted him, actually you wouldn't be on 1.0 playing the latest games, as 1.0 didn't have any PS1 support... and if they did want to make a non PS3 shop, well, would have been already here.

Well I know about the one using GTA:LCS but the only place I can find the unpatched version is on Ebay...which goes for over $55.00 which i'm not willing to spend on since i'm totally broke. So i was kind of hoping for a GTA:LCS-free downgrader. :D

There's no 3.11 OE yet because...

When it comes to the different PSP firmwares, homebrew history dictates that a downgrader almost always follows a decrypter. Right? Right. With that said, it is logical to expect that a new downgrader will be released soon after 3.11 was successfully decrypted yesterday. Right? Well, not quite.

Word has recently been going around that Dark_AleX won't be making a 3.11 OE. Allegedly, he says that,

The FW 3.11 is ready, but it's not worthy to release because it needs a total re-flash and there isn't any update. There will be a plugin to launch all POPS until the FW 3.11, because it's the only thing that has changed in it.

Well, it was actually in Spanish, and this is the translated version. Anyway, provided that this is true (we checked DAX's official site and found nothing there), we guess Dark_AleX deserves to have a break. After all, even God, Himself, rested on the 7th day. And besides, we shouldn't forget that 3.11 was cracked using the 3.10 decrpyter, so that means nothing much has changed in terms of security.

We reported this because we believe it is important in more ways than one. First, it is a reminder that you should not tinker with 3.11 yet unless you want to commit a homebrew suicide. Another reason is that the fake downgraders that caused a lot of bricked PSP units are still fresh in our memories, and we don't want that to happen again.

Don't worry, guys. We're pretty certain DAX will be back once a worthy firmware comes along, provided that Sony hasn't given up yet. In the mean time, why don't you just send DAX, Team C+D ,and the other great homebrew coders some well-deserved thank you notes?

If you are running a custom fw make sure your kernal is set to 1.50 and/or the application is in a Game150 folder.

If your not then I dont know what your problem is.

There isn't a downgrader for official firmware version 3.11 yet. An exploit is yet to be discovered to make that happen anytime.

As for the dycrypted firmware bit, it just means that the files were extracted from the updater using a PSAR dumper and decrypted under 1.50 or custom firmware conditions. The encrypted form (I think) would normally used with Device Hook, a program that emulates PSP firmware. Other than that, not used for many other purposes (if not at all).
