Just when you thought Samsung had exhausted the Galaxy brand, along comes the news that the firm intends to take down Apple’s iPad mini with an 8-inch Galaxy Note.
According to reports, the new device will be announced at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona at the end of February.
SamMobile claims to have a confirmed spec sheet for the ‘Galaxy Note 8.0’, revealing that the device will run Android Jelly Bean 4.2, have a high-res 1280 x 800 Super Clear LCD display, 5MP camera, 2GB RAM and up to 32GB of storage.
Seeing as Samsung already has the Galaxy Tab 7.0 and 7.7 on the market, as well as its Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets, the firm has all angles covered, apart from the likes of Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Apple’s iPad mini. All that is about to change.
At the moment there is no pricing or availability information, but we’re sure we’ll be finding out a lot more at MWC 2013 on February 25th.
In other Galaxy news, Samsung’s next smartphone, the Galaxy S4, is rumoured to launch in Q1 2013 (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/samsung-galaxy-s4-set-for-q1-launch/030011).
