Sony has revealed that the first 500,000 "purchasers" of PS3 who registered on the PlayStation Network will receive a Blu-ray version of Casino Royale.

The deal's a bit similar to the one Microsoft offered with offering an HD version of King Kong when you picked up the 360 HD-DHD player. Casino Royale's obviously a better film though...

Darren Carter, VP Brand and Consumer Marketing said, "The PlayStation Network unlocks the broad range of interactive entertainment features of PlayStation 3. It's easy to set up, offers free online gaming, has great tools for staying in touch with friends and family, and includes a wide variety of content for download through the PlayStation Store."

So I am assuming that the deal is over with already? That's a lot of people to have done that already, I never bother with regestering my stuff. It's asked for almost everything now a days and just gets me pissed off but I guess I missed out on this one.

Well thats the problem with the US and Japan getting their PS3's before us.

We miss out on great deals like these. :(

Um....this is just for the Euro/UK launch, this has nothing to do with the US and Japanese PS3s. Its meant to make up for Sony being so late in releasing the PS3 in Europe.

^^Im awaiting the laucnh date, gonna create another account and register my japanese ps3 and get a copy of blu ray movie - possibly flog it on ebay like i did with the psp.

is this only for the euro ps3s or for the first 500,000. i know that i was one of the first to register so i hope i get a new BD in the mail.

That was the first thought that came to my mind when the article mentioned that the first 500,000 customers who bought a ps3 would get a casino royale blu-ray disc.

Im hoping seeing as ive had my ps3 preordered at Gamestation since last May that ill get mine day one and get my free blu-ray disc.

superd i would be surprised if you even get your cosole from gamestation.

Anyways i already signed up my screen name, so do i not get one as i signed up before i had a console :s

No you don 't, you have to register your ps3 online then you get the movie.
