I wouldn't bother with vista on any computer.

Apart from microsoft choosing to try to force people to upgrade with DX10 being vista only, whats actually useful new features does it have?

I have a 3.4 ghz hyperthreading processor, 512 mb DDR2 and a ATI All-In-Wonder X800xt graphics card with 256mb of dedicated GDDR3 memory, and vista still runs a little slow, so I dont think it will run too fast on your computer. Microsoft recommends at least 512mb of ram as a minimum.

I'm actually running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (well, the pre-release RC1 version) and it seems to work just about fine for me. I have 2GB RAM, an Nvidia 7900GTX graphics card with 512MB memory and a 3.20gHz duo core processor.

You haven't got near enough RAM for Vista. TBH you need more for XP too.

I'm running a sepron 2200+ with 512 ram and 128 video card. vista ultimate runs ok without the areo look, but I'm getting rid of it soon, because it doesnt run my copie of alchole 120% and a tone of drivers / software is incompatible.
