Nintendo has announced a new instalment in the Wii Party (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/nintendo-wii/party/11548/wii-party/) series to be released on Wii U (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/nintendo-wii-u/games/12079/wii-u/) this summer.

For example, one [minigame] will use the Wii U GamePad as an unusual kind of dice to play virtual board games on your TV."Another one will use the GamePad and Wii Remote to encourage communication between players.
"Some will not use the TV screen, they'll only use the gamepad to pit two players against each other."
Iwata concluded: "This will continue to enhance our image of making Wii U the system that brings everyone together."
