Microsoft has apparently blamed PC manufacturers for slow Windows 8 sales during the Christmas period.
According to Channel Register (http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2013/01/24/windows_8_blame_game/), the software giant sent out guidelines on what OEMs should include in Windows 8 PCs in order to maximise the users experience.
However, ORMs have hit back, saying that if they had followed the guidelines they’d have been stuck with a range of high-cost, high-price devices that consumers wouldn’t want or understand.
“Microsoft is very frustrated with major OEMs who didn't build nearly enough touch systems and are now struggling to find parts and ramp up. Microsoft says they provided very specific guidance on what to build,” said a source.
Now that there are a few more good Windows 8 devices out there, Microsoft is reportedly planning to reboot the launch of the operating system next month.
