BlackBerry has said a big thank you to developers who took part in BlackBerry Jam events by giving them limited edition red Z10 smartphones.
“Thank you for all of the outstanding applications you have developed for BlackBerry 10.
Thank you for all of the long hours, late nights and early mornings you’ve spent coding.
Thank you for traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to BlackBerry Jam events around the world.
Thank you for taking a leap of faith. And thank you for believing in BlackBerry 10.
Since we can’t say thank you enough, we’re releasing 12,000 new Limited Edition BlackBerry Z10 devices, in red.
Because you have earned them,” said BlackBerry’s Alec Saunders in a blog post (http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/02/thank-you-developers/?CPID=E10C020).
Developers submitted 15,000 BlackBerry 10 apps within two days (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/rim-adds-15k-blackberry-10-apps-in-lead-up-to-new-os/029997) during just one of the firm’s virtual Port-a-Thon event.
