Quality/Usability : (excerpt from our Wii Component Review (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=50694))
With Nintendo own Official component cables being sold out and hard to find, 3rd party manufacturers are releasing their own.
Those who have high-definition TV sets must and I mean MUST get component cables for all their home consoles. If you have a high-def TV and still using composite cables, why even own a high-def TV in the first place?!
Component cables make a huge difference when it comes to graphics, details and color. The quality of these component cables are great. They're definitely better than composite cables that came with the Nintendo Wii console. Unfortunatley, since I couldnt get my hands on Nintendo's component cable, I can't compare.
This is Penguin United's third component cable. The other two iare Regular Component Cable (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=52584) and Gold Plated Component Cable (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=52585). Is there a difference at all between the three? I personally do see a difference between the three. I honestly have to say, the Premium Component Cable is up there with the high-end cables. This is actually on par with Nintendo's own component cable.
The clarity and colors are a lot clearer. Objects are more defined, colors are more vibrant, just all around its better. I tried the cables on multiple TV sets and each TV set displayed nice images.
The quality of the cables are top notch and look professional. Like the Gold Plated component cables, the Premium component cable also has a nylon mesh on the cables. The cables are white.
Conclusion : Overall, the Penguin United Component Cable (Premium) is a excellent substitute to the Official Nintendo Component Cable. The quality is on par with the Nintendo brand. If you have the few extra bucks to burn, I suggest picking up the Premium cables.
