User reports of new Jelly Bean update rapidly surfacing.
Details of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, which is now available on Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices, are beginning to surface, with users citing new sounds and notification features as the most notable offerings.
Yesterday (February 12th) saw rumours of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rollout for Nexus, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/android-4-2-2-update-lands-on-galaxy-nexus-devices/020558)device run amok across social media platforms, such as Twitter and Reddit.
However, while no official update details have been divulged by Google, several users have noted that a range of new notification sounds and features are among the key improvements.
GSMArena (http://blog.gsmarena.com/android-4-2-2-update-brings-notification-toggles-new-sounds/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter) has reported that the 4.2.2 update now offers users the ability to utilise notification screen shortcuts as toggles. While they still act in the same way as before, users can tap or hold shortcut buttons to enable or disable particular features, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Furthermore, a single tap is now all that is required to switch Airplane mode on or off.
Elsewhere, a new notification sound has been introduced that plays when the device is placed on a wireless charger, and a new low battery notification sound has also been added.
