Nevermind that this looks a bit like a blog post, I found this humorous. Reading some UK Resistance comments today, I came across something interesting - the SNES is outselling the PS3 on amazon's video game sales section right now (which realistically means very little in the grand scheme of things, but who can resist?).

I took screenshots, because of course this isn't going to last. When I checked the SNES was at 15, and the PS3 was at 51. Right now it's more like 13 and 32, but still! Must be a virtual console-inspired resurgance. Also worth noting that the Wii, DS, and 360 are all still selling better than the SNES. But where's the Genesis? As of right now, Model 1 is #148, Model 3 is #829 (but that's its own fault). The superior Model 2 is at a ridiculous #1,968 - probably due to not having a picture by it when you search.

I know this is just one of those "interesting fact" posts, but here seems like a great place to air out my thoughts on sony.
I'll be the first to admit I wanted nintendo to make a comeback this generation.
But I didn't want to see sony fail this badly either.
No this post doesn't pertain to this thread or the above piece of news. its just sad to see the company that brought us the playstation/playstation 2 and psp, bet everything on their newly developed ps3, and not only lose, but be completely slaughtered by the competition.
Sonys ego respectively have cost them a great deal.
I think it's even possible they are suffering more punishment then they deserve.

Everyone said the PS2 would fail, due to its DVD player. Look at it now

That's true, but the PS2 sales were a hell of a lot better at the same stage as what the PS3 is at now.

Sony isn't failing with the ps3. Sales just arn't as good as they hoped the playstation brand would carry this hulking over-priced Foreman Grill.
Punishment they deserve? How about drowning the Sony Exec's in an olympic sized pool of mediocre yearly updated games.
I didn't think people said the PS2 would fail at the time, even with the dire launch. dvd playback, though low quality, was certainly considered a bonus at the time, not a risk like blu-ray is now.

Sony needs to take a major hit! I think it will help us gamers by forcing Sony to step up and release some great games for their systems just like with nintendo did. As for the fact that the SNES is out saling the PS3 it not really that alaming. At this point every system is out saling the PS3.
