Ascend P2 'breaks all records' with 150 Mbps download speed. You can use it with your gloves on too.
Last month's CES saw Chinese OEM Huawei debut two significant devices; one that boasts 20 days of standby time (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/ces-2013-new-huawei-w1-smartphone-boasts-20-days-of-standby-time/020266), and a phablet with a 6.1-inch screen (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/ces-2013-it-s-all-about-size-as-huawei-launches-giant-phablet/020265).
Having secured longevity and size, the vendor now feels the need for speed, proclaiming that the Ascend P2 is the 'world's fastest 4G LTE smartphone' and boasts download speeds of 150 Mbps.
The 8.44mm slim device sports a 1.5GHz processor, and a 4.7-inch IPS HD screen with Gorilla Glass, a rear 13MP camera/1.3MP front-facing camera, and will come in the token colours of black and white.
Other notable features include NFC, Android Jelly Bean, 'magic touch' to enable use with gloves, while the screen brightness adjusts automatically dependent on the lighting available in the user's environment.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said: "Ascend P2 is the perfect combination of elegance and power, and further proof that there's no need to compromise when desiring a perfect smartphone. It is evidence of the outstanding smartphone experiences and great technology that we are committed to bringing to consumers globally."
The Ascend P2 will also be available globally around the second quarter of 2013. In related news,Huawei has been announced as an official vendor of Firefox OS-based devices. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/mwc-2013-firefox-os-will-debut-via-four-oems-and-17-operators/020680)
