Read this thread about the ongoing virtual console problems, Nintendos answer for now does not look to good
for a fix in the nearby future.

Problem is not too few people having hdtvs and using various blends of component cables are affected by it, and the fix probably would just be a simple scaler doing a proper 480p mode for the old games.
Anyway, no good news on this.
