Hi, I'm just offering my musical services here for free, want to get a foot in the door, so to speak. I have just finished my Master's Degree in Musicology. I write classical and rock music for the most part and am getting into electronic music too.

Anyone interested please visit www.cianfurlongmusic.net and look at the first few samples on the music page there.

Looking forward to hearing from game developers!

Thanks

Cian

Wow. Listening to your Forest theme atm. Beautiful.

I highly recommend to get in contact with S+F Software (http://sfsoftware.sevensoupcans.com/). They are working on a 2D-Adventure game to be released commercially via GOAT Store Publishing.

I also think this kind of music would be great for BlueCrab's MMORPG (http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index.php/Main/DCRPG) project.

Speaking of music, has anybody used the DC Midi cable? (HKT-9200)
http://www.dreamcastgallery.com/dc/gallery.asp?selected_otherkit_id=638

I've seen a few Japanese sites with the cables for sale, but shipping transcontinental shipping is so expen$ive.

As far as I know there was only one game that took advantage of the device:
"O.TO.I.RE Dreamcast Sequencer"
http://www.segagagadomain.com/dreamcast-ntsc/otoire.htm

I don't know a lot about the MIDI interface, but I know there are methods to convert MIDI to a RS232 connection, I wonder what the circuitry inside the MIDI cable looks like, it'd be awesome if somebody in the community could make a homebrew adapter or make a schematic from the insides of the MIDI cable.

One method of MIDI to RS232 conversion I've seen uses the PIC microcontrollers:
http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=circuit_midi_rs232

If anybody has the cable/software, it'd be cool to see the insides so maybe one of us could make a converter. If I saw the insides of one I could probably make an adapter, but programming the software would be a trickier task as my experience is mainly with electronics.
