Booster has released an update to his firmware emulation program, Devhook.

Now at v0.52.0100, it includes some bug fixes and support for firmware version 3.11.

This opens up new avenues for XMB hacking at least, as it allows people to try new things without bricking.

NOTE: You NEED the previous version of DevHook installed to update to v0.52.0100.

Get it here: Devhook v0.52 (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=47272)

Nice, about to try this.
You need DevHook v0.52 (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=47272&highlight=devhook+0.52) first for it to work.

Thanks for the news, EvilSeph, and great work, BOOSTER.

Devhook is one of the greatest homebrew applications in the history of the PSP. Awesome.

I use devhook for .dax file support. Dax compression is often 10% smaller than CSO ;)

I was going to test out ratchet and clank wifi infrastructure on devhook. Unfortunately i bricked trying to set up devhook on my 3.10OE-A'. I quickly recovered however and successfully installed OE back onto my psp :). I guess i won't be able to use devhook after all. :(

none the less great work booster. :)

Sweeeet.
OE custom firmwares don't render DevHook useless. Some of my games for some reason won't work on 3.03 OE-C, but work just fine with DevHook.

woah! Good News! I've never used Dev-Hook since I updated to 3.02OE, but I think I will now.

February 25th, 2007, 00:54
Exactly, only thing that changed with 3.11 is POPS, and THAT can't be emulated through devhook anyway...

Thanks again Booster!

acually they added a dynamic music normalizer and the conserve memory function on the web browser aswell. but there not much

Conserve memory has been there for quite a while.

But besides, dynamic normalizer isn't the greatest of functions ^^

I currently have Devhook installed on my 1.5 PSP, which emulates up to 3.03. I want to install this newer version.....although I am not sure how?
I've read you need to 'dump' 3.11 firmware?

I'm not sure what that means.
Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Great Work Booster.
Now what we need is CFG file manager for
devhook.

d_ciel
February 25th, 2007, 15:22
<<antneed

to decrypt, download 3.11 firmware from qj or somewhere,
and put it in top of ms
Then download psar dumper fromdark alex's site
and boot it.([]button for reboot.bin and it is
needed for ms_hook)

I would say that you must install custom firmware first because it had my psp cause semi-bricked last
time i launched.
or maybe 1.53 would recover your psp when its
semi-bricked...

anyways, what you need to do is download
"different" version (meaning it's release of
only what's different from past),
then overwrite the existing devhook,
then decrypt 3.11fw with reboot.bin
and put them in ms0:/dh/311/F0
and launch the launcher for 3.03.

that's all I guess...But you'd better flash to
1.53 or other cfw or you'll get your psp unbootable...

February 25th, 2007, 20:29
When we dump 3.11 DXAR to use in devhook, do we extract or Decrypt All?

Shrygue
February 25th, 2007, 20:36
I think you just extract it without any decrypting of files. That's how I did it for the 3.10 firmware.

I'm confused, when it says devhook with 3.11 support does that mean devhook will run on 3.11. Cuz thats the firmware i have.

Buddy4point0
March 5th, 2007, 00:11
no it means you can run 3.11 from 1.5 or custom firmware.
if you have 3.11 your screwed. you cant downgrade yet and you cant play homebrew.
damn i though we finally got every1 when you could downgrade from 3.03 and it was the latest.
there might be a 3.11 downgrader but i donno if there even gonna waist there time making one because now almost every person has custom firmware

Just a point to note: Device Hook can not run on official Sony firmware. It only works on custom firmware.

August 11th, 2007, 23:14
Get GTA: Liberty City Stories with the 2.00 update on it, or the Lumines UMD if don't have any of those. When you do get one of them, use it to downgrade to 1.50. Start a thread in PSP Help or do some research on your own if you wonder where to go from here.

YKB, actually, 1.50 - the firmware DevHook was made to work on - is official firmware. :p With custom firmware nowadays, DevHook is of little usage.

Ok i am having trouble with devhook v0.52 when try to emulate a firmware for example fw 3.03 to make more sense of this this is what i do
1.go into devhook
2.firmware 3.03
3.install config file to flash1
4.install kd/resource to flash0
5.boot mode XMB menu
6.UMD select UMD disc
7.start devhook
but nothing happens my psp turns off and when i turn it back on the fw still displays as 1.5 there is no emulated firmware can any1 tell me why plz.

And you have put a decrypted 3.03 firmware dump into the ms0:/dh/303 folder? Anyway, I recommend you to upgrade to a custom firmware, whether it's from M33 or Wildcard, as they contain loads of new features, and you won't need DevHook for anything (the specific cheat device for GTA: VCS doesn't work, but there are other cheat devices available for custom firmware).
