The newest Monster Hunter has been a much-needed success story for Wii U - so much so that the game is selling out.
Fortunately, Nintendo of Europe has pledged to resupply retailers with fresh stock of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for both Wii U and 3DS within weeks.
"I'd like to apologise for the current stock shortage due to high demand of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at retail," Nintendo of Europe boss Satoru Shibata tweeted via an official Nintendo account (https://twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/319462728362237953).
"New #MH3U stock will hopefully be available in shops next week for Wii U and mid April for Nintendo 3DS. Both versions of #MH3U are also available on Nintendo eShop. Again, I sincerely apologise for causing any inconvenience."
Sales for the Wii U itself have been slow since launch, but the release of Monster Hunter 3 helpedits UK performance rebound significantly (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/wii-u-sales-rebound-in-the-uk/0113425?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+mcvuk%2Fstream+(MCV%3A+Home+S tream)). Nintendo has also promised to work with retailers (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/nintendo-moves-to-calm-wii-u-fears-as-unofficial-price-cuts-fail/0112855) to detail its plans to regain momentum for the new console.
