New from Cory1492:

DLDI enabled tool that will dump your DS firmware, Arm7 and Arm9 bios to your device. For more info on what DLDI is, see here.

Currently only tested on a NA DSLite using EZ4LD GBA slot card and EZ5 DS slot card.

More Info (http://nds.cmamod.com/2007/01/24/dsbf_dump-79-bios-firmware-dumper/)

I can see the usefulness of dumping both the bios and the firmware, however, is it not possible to flash to the firmware as well? I know there is a piece of track you need to connect inside the DS however I'm wondering what the possibilities of custom firmware offer to Slot-1 device owners, like my M3 Simply? The custom firmware in the PSP scene has dominated, what can we expect from a DS custom firmware?

Anyway, great dumper, glad I can do it myself, all nice and legal BIOS now :D

The only reason that custom firmware dominates the PSP scene is because Sony keep on changing it on each revision to stop homebrew. Nintendo haven't really taken that sort of approach with the DS (so far) so there's no real need for any other custom firmware apart from Flashme. Flashme is still useful for slot-1 owners as it removes the signature check from 'DS Download Play'. There is an application floating around that allows you to send NDS files from one DS to another without a router. WMB_Host(?) I think it's only a proof of concept, but that requires the receiving DS to have Flashme, as noone has worked out how to sign code for the DS yet.

Same here with a SCLite card. Patched with DLDI as one normally does.

Just the program or is it something were doing wrong?

You might have a new Supercard that requires a different DLDI file. Go to http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/DLDI for information regarding that and several links to download the file.

Thanks for that. I did note that I was able to use this dumper via DSOrganize.

Does that mean I should be using that other DLDI driver variant you pointed out on the WiKi site?

OR

I do have ScummVMDS and SNEmulDS which use DLDI. Both appear to work fine and patched with the DLDI SCLT available at http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/

Does that show it the DLDI I'm using works and should then work with other programs also?

Sorry I am a little new on the DS (just switched form PSP), but getting there quickly.

Any info or help would be great, thanks again.

If the ones from the main DLDI site work, then you don't need to bother with the SCSD_moon file from the wiki.
