2.67m boxed games were sold last month in what was a decent March for retail.
That number is a slight 1.5 per cent drop over the same period in 2012, but it’s a big improvement over the significant declines posted in January and February.
In fact, games stores generated £70.6m in revenue, a rise of 4.2 per cent over the £67.7m retailers made in March 2012.
Tomb Raider was the clear winner of the month, more than doubling the sales of second place performer BioShock Infinite. As a result, Square Enix was the UK’s No.1 publisher last month.
