Hopes of a Western release for a 3DS version of Ni No Kuni have been resurrected.
The game enjoyed tremendous critical success upon its European PS3 release in January, but it actually debuted as a DS title in Japan back in 2010.
Now Pocket Gamer (http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/3DS/Ni+no+Kuni/news.asp?c=50047) reports that an un-named Namco Publisher executive has apparently claimed that the publisher “is not opposed” to the idea of reworking the game for a release on Nintendo’s latest handheld.
The question now is whether a 3DS version would be based on the DS code or instead on the more modern and technically advanced PS3 SKU.
