Former Android-only feature adapted for Apple devices.
Facebook Home was revealed a couple of weeks ago (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/facebook-introduces-home-its-new-android-based-social-interface/021018), and the company was very excited about the Chat Headscommunications feature, which allows users to respond to Facebook messages and texts while using other apps.
Of course, this was an Android-only product, but Facebook has announced Chat Heads for iPhones and iPads as part of a new iOS update. However, the feature only works while using Facebook when browsing photos, News Feed and so on, so it doesn't have quite the widespread reach of the Google counterpart.
Another additional feature includes stickers, allowing users to add a touch more character to their messages. Chat Heads and stickers will roll out in the coming weeks, while the recently announced News Feed makeover (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/video-facebook-news-feed-receives-mobile-inspired-makeover/020819) will also be included.
The introduction of Chat Heads comes following Facebook's director of product Adam Mosseri revealing the company is in talks with Apple and Microsoft about taking Facebook Home to iOS and Windows. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/facebook-home-could-head-to-apple-and-microsoft/021106)
