Nintendo confirmed as much today during its Nintendo Direct broadcast, during which company boss Satoru Iwata offered gameplay details and new in-game video footage, viewable below.First announced in February (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/391319/mario-and-donkey-kong-announced-for-3ds-eshop/) under the placeholder title 'Mario and Donkey Kong', it's the fifth game in the series, but abandons the usual side-scrolling puzzle platforming for a top-down puzzle mechanic similar to the 1980s game Pipemania.You can see the original announcement trailer here (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/391319/mario-and-donkey-kong-announced-for-3ds-eshop/).Players have to place down paths for mechanical Mario characters to walk along, being sure to avoid obstacles and hazards.There will also be a selection of mini-games including one in which you use a slingshot to fire Mario at targets.
