Even though the DS is already blessed with a large and varied library of great titles, its hard not to wish for the games that should be, and the games that probably will never be. Nintendo's little white pandora's box of quirky interfaces seems destined to forever remain pregnant with possibility, no matter how creative the developers get. To vent their desires, Pocket Gamer has assembled a canon of forgotten gaming heroes and oddball fancies that would make a good fit for Nintendo's dual-screened play thing

Heres the list:

A LucasArts adventure game collection
Okami DS
Pilot Wings DS
Sketch Fighter DS
A board game compendium for big kids?
Mario Paint DS
Donkey Kong DS
Anima Wars
GoldenEye DS
Marble Madness DS

me personally i want C&C Red alert on DS :)

Win, Lose, or Draw could be very fun on this platform.

Any D&D game that could simulate the feel of the pen & paper. Nothing like making your own maps of dungeons and stuff like that.

Transport Tycoon (I know there's SimcityDS, but I always preferred TT)

A good robotron or tempest port wouldn't go amiss neither

the following games should not be ports... but should be made specifically for the DS with a new storyline...

Leisure Suit Larry DS
Broken Sword DS
Conker's Bad Fur Day DS
Okami DS
House of the Dead DS
and any mmorpg ...... actually if maplestory ds is a mmo that'd be perfect.. since it's comming out
Gradius DS
....... that's all i can think of at the moment.

More Arcade collections. So far there's the Konami one in the works but thats it?
The first Tomb Raider in it's original form, not a 2.5 plat former or whatever they released.
I agree about D&D games with cool stylus lock picking ,magic scroll scribing and map making. Seems every rpg for the DS your a kid with an over sized cranium, jeez.
All Sid Miers Games, lol. Especially Pirates and Civ.

My original ideas were:

Halo DS (got cancelled...)
BiA (in the making...)
and just to throw it in there, even though Bia is there in the WWII category: CoD

I would love to se this three titles:

1. GTA DS (Scaled down to DSīs 3D Capibilitis (should maybe look a bit like GTA III NOT IN TOP DOWN LOOK !)

2. A The Incredible Machine: Contraptions Port

3. A Banjo Kazooie DS

I've said it once and I'll say it many more times: Mario Party DS with Wi-Fi.

That and a Chaotix 2.

1. Super Smash Bros DS (if the DS can handle Mario 64 with no problems it should be able to handle this too)

2. Street Fighter DS (maybe making use of 2 screens in the way that X-Men vs Street Fighter always you to jump higher than the standard screen height)

3. Virtua Cop / Time Crisis DS (well they did Point Blank so I'm sure either of these games could be stripped down into a similar style DS game)

4. Virtua Fighter DS (heck even if it was a port of the original Virtua Fighter I'd be happy!)

5. Nights Into Dreams DS (I wish!)

6. Panzer Dragoon DS (another wish that won't happen :( )

7. Sega Rally DS

8. Zelda: Ocarina Of Time DS (again if they can convert Mario 64 to the DS, I don't see why they can't revamp this for the handheld!)

that would actually be really good  (especially if the Wi-Fi allowed you to send your images to the PC and save them as JPEGs etc; I know you can pretty much do this with homebrew software already but it would be good to have official software like this)

Pizza Tycoon, Mad TV, Detroit, Theme Hospital, Civilization, Colonization (pixel perfect conversions of good DOS or Amiga economy/trading/world building games)

Incredible Machine / Incredible Toons

Worms1 or Worms2 conversion, with Wi-Fi Connection support and level editor

Populous: The Beggining, but only if better than the PSX version, with Wi-Fi Connection.

Super Monkey Ball-style game with cool controls or even with motion-sensing thingy?

A new 2D Metroid game (or at least a new 3D Metroid-Prime game based on the GC titles, with an emphasis on exploration and with better level design than in MP: Hunters).

Some SEGA racing game (Outrun2, SEGA Rally, Daytona USA) with good controls and Wi-Fi, and Banjo Kazooie remake with decent controls.

I would like to see
GTA Ds(make it behind like GTA 3, not above it )
Banjo Kazooi DS
Conkers Bad Fur Day DS
Halo DS Would Have been cool
I mostly would like to see if some one could port a MS-DOS system to the DS that would be pretty cool.

I really want to see the GTA though I think us DS owners deserve a GTA. :)

that does not suck, here is a list
pretty much all ultimas, the ultima underworlds,
or the fallouts...
I am somewhat sick of cheap jrpgs with lousy plots and linear lock in.

Also some people mentioned a lucasarts game collection,
guys simply check out the scummvm port for the nintendo ds, probably the best piece of homebrew soft currently available.
