Executive chairman Eric Schmidt has revealed that consumers will likely be able to get their hands on Google Glass in a year’s time.
During an interview with BBC Radio 4’s World at One (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0181d41), Schmidt commented that Glass was ‘probably a year-ish away’.
Schmidt explained that Google will be looking for feedback from thousands of current Glass users who’ve bought developer models. “Based on their feedback, we'll make some product changes,” said Schmidt.
Google’s chairman explained that wearers of the technology will have to take responsibility for keeping information safe and understand when and where it is not appropriate to record your surroundings.
"It's obviously not appropriate to wear these glasses in situations where recording is not correct. And indeed, you have this problem already with phones.
“Companies like Google have a very important responsibility to keep your information safe, but you have a responsibility as well, which is to understand what you're doing, how you're doing it, and behave appropriately and also keep everything up-to-date."
