Following Microsoft's confirmation it would look to release smaller Windows 8 powered tablets, images leaked online appear to reveal the first.
Tech site Minmachines (http://www.minimachines.net/a-la-une/exclu-acer-iconia-w3-une-tablette-8-windows-8-pour-la-rentree-6732) first published the images, which show off an eight-inch Acer tablet, labelled as the Iconia W3.
Shown to be running Windows 8, the Iconia W3 is said to sport a dual-core Atom Z2760 processor with hyper-threading, clocked at 1.8GHz. Hardly the most powerful device on the market, but the device would seemingly value size over performance.
Additional specs of the W3 are said to include 2GB of RAM, dual camera, speaker set-up and ports for microUSB and microSDHC.
Whilst the Iconia W3 is yet to be confirmed, the fact that Acer has since asked Minimachines to take down the image would certainly indicate its existence.
