No further technical support from Apple for its pioneering smartphone

Apple’s original iPhone is to become obsolete in June, according to internal documentation.
The documentation, picked up by 9to5mac.com (http://9to5mac.com/2013/04/29/original-iphone-will-soon-reach-obsolete-status-in-apple-retail-stores/), shows the headset manufacturer will classify the original iPhone as ‘obsolete’ everywhere, expect the US, from June 11th, meaning an Apple product that was discontinued more than seven years ago.

In the US, the device will be classified as ‘vintage’, meaning that parts will still be available to repair the iPhone, if it was purchased in the state of California.
The original iPhone was launched in the US in June 2007 and followed later that year in other territories. This was prior to Apple’s now-trendsetting App Store launching.
Apple has already ceased most of its software support for the original iPhone, with iOS 3.0 being the last firmware update to the hardware.
